Looking for Mr. Wright

I can't wait to put on my pinstrips!

The Bug had to get in on the excitement too!

So, we are a few months out before the first day of Spring, but this week kicks off the best part of the season..BASEBALL. And in Florida, it starts tomorrow!
As man of you know I'm a huge NY Mets fan, I have been for years. I remember being a little girl and going to the Cincinnati Reds v. the Mets games and hunting down the players at their hotel for autographs. My first crush was on Greg Jeffries, and then came Todd Hundley and now, well, there is only one Mr. Right...David Wright. On March 7, I am bringing the most important man in my life, my daddy with me for a date to Winterhaven, to watch the Mets and Indians play. We have seats behind the Met's dugout and I have a brand new shiny ball to bring to get more autographs. The coolest part in all of this is I will be wearing my new Wright jersey courtesy of my folks.
So, let's play ball!

Blessed

My favorite, tulips. From Bobby, Kristi and Joshy-man!

And a beautiful spring bouquet from my cousin Meghan and her hubby, Adam.

I have so much to be thankful for right now.

I was really dreading last week...that looming date, February 14 sat there. I was the good mommy and made goodie bags filled with candy and V-day things for the Bug, helped her write out her cards, I even put up some little heart decorations around the house, bought the pink and red M&M's, trying to get into the spirit of the holiday. I don't know why I was so worried to hit the date.  Maybe because this year some things have changed and I felt this pressure on me to still have that date mean something. I went into work and had an assignment to shoot this pooch named Nike. He had received a pacemaker to help with his enlarged heart. The 12-year-old Chinese pug warmed my heart and I realized, this is love. He was adorable, posing for my camera and letting me crawl on the floor with him petting his round belly. After that assignment I was immediately in a better mood. I had a much better afternoon and I came home to find flowers from Bobby and Kristi Burge. Good friends from Ky. I started to tear up. That was so thoughtful and sweet. That night I went out for dinner with my friend Ingrid and had a great time chowing down on Latin food and well, the 'partying' later on, was at least humorous(; So, thanks to my friends and family and for that lil pug, Nike, you made the 14th a day I will no longer dread.

E session with Marie and Michael

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Michael and Marie's engagement portraits on Clearwater Beach. We went back to the exact spot where Mike popped the question and Marie accepted. We were watching storms all day and worried about the gray skies, but then that delicious Florida sunset popped out and gave us that beautiful light which we take for granted here on a daily basis and proves there is a God.

They are getting married on April 5 and my good friend and fellow WKU alum, Carrie Pratt, with Studio Blu Images is shooting it with me. She also helped with the toning of the above pictures. Thanks girl!
