Wiatrowski's Holiday Pictures, Tampa

Every year I look forward to photographing Sam and Eli at Lettuce Lake Regional Park in Tampa. It's been a tradition since Sam was in his Mommy's tummy. This year we had a great morning exploring the observation deck and of course running around the playground.

I'm so thankful for families like the Wiatrowski's who keep coming back every year. It's heart warming to know that their family holiday traditions include a photo session with me.

Thank you Kevin and Jen!

Every year we put Eli on his Daddy's shoulders. Another tradition his Mom loves!

Eli just couldn't keep his pants up and I thought this was such a cute frame to grab!

Sam is more and more handsome each year. Watch out girls!

Felix's Holiday Pictures, San Antonio

When I was in Louisville in October I had such a great response from my mini-sessions that I offered some locally and was just as fortunate.

Robyn and her husband Danilo, who I worked with in August to help illustrate the Southwest Florida Water Management District recreational guide booked me right away when I advertised the idea on my fan page on Facebook.

I was looking for something different than a park or beach to offer clients and a friend of a friend gave us access to their farm in San Antonio. It was an absolutely gorgeous fall day. Cool breeze, cloudless skies. Perfect weather for anything outside.

The two of them were so easy to work with. They needed no prompting or suggestions. It was a nice change from chasing around all those adorable and energetic angels that I also had the pleasure of photographing for holiday sessions!

I love this little moment they were sharing. I am also thankful they weren't scared off by the livestock auction being broadcasted over a bullhorn in the background!

So in love!

The Spanish moss was everywhere and glowed in the sunlight making for such a naturally gorgeous backdrop.

Thanks you two and Merry Christmas!

Trash the Dress Session- St. Pete Beach

Months ago my friend Kristin inquired about getting some photos on the beach wearing her wedding dress. She had mentioned she wanted, what my industry is now calling a 'Trash the Dress' session. Basically, the bribe wears her gown again and has photographs taken in non-traditional locations or scenes and doesn't really worry about what happens to her dress. I was very excited for the opportunity, not only to get to photograph Kristin and Tim, but also to shoot one of these sessions. It was my first!

We decided on St. Pete Beach and we headed out there last week for some fun in the sand and surf. No sun, but it I think the cloudy skies worked for this.

Kristin and Tim were great sports with all my suggestions and were such a joy to work with.

Here are a few of my favorite shots.

Kristin is so naturally beautiful. It wasn't hard to make a nice photo.

They are so cute and in love. They celebrated their first anniversary this past fall.

I think this may be my favorite photo, and she hasn't even 'trashed' the dress yet.

Thanks guys for a great afternoon!

Davis' Holiday Pictures, Tarpon Springs

I have been so antsy to show off some of the holiday session photos I have been busy shooting the past two months, and now I can. Most of my clients want the pictures to be gifts for their family, so I have been eagerly sitting and waiting, until today, when I received Lisa and David's Christmas card in the mail, and I thought it was fair game!

It was so great to get the Davis' in front of my camera again. I haven't photographed them since their daughter, Olivia, "Livi" was a couple weeks old. She is now 9 months. What a big difference with these photos. She has such an adorable personality and her parents are really enjoying every minute of it!

They decided to head out to the beach near their house in Tarpon Springs on a breezy Sunday night. The evening had a chill in the air and Livi squealed with delight as we had some fun in the sand.

Look back in March when I have the honor of shooting her first birthday photos!

Better Late Than Never--Louisville Shoot October 2009,

For a couple of years, friends from home have asked to let them know when I'm coming back to Louisville so I can photograph their families. I kept putting it off and now that I have so much time on my hands, lol, I decided better late than never. It was a nice excuse to see my brother and his family and do what I love.

It was a perfect weekend for the photos. The leaves were screaming in colors of gold, and red and despite a cold rainy morning we made some gorgeous photos of these incredible children and parents.

So, here is a mish mosh of some of the my favorite photos of the nine families. I plan to go back in the spring to do another round of mini sessions.

Let me know if you want in!

Sharing and Blessings

Today is a very special day in our house. Eight years ago my husband, Jimmy and I tied the knot.

Life has definitely handed us many hills and valleys in our ten years together as a couple, but with faith, family and friends, we are happier and more in love today than we were the day we said, I do! I'm so thankful for many blessings.

This is a link to a recent article written about my husband and I's separation in 2007.

I was nervous about telling our story, worried people would leave rude comments or think it was fake, but, I thought if our struggles and triumphs can help just one couple to try harder and not give up, it was worth it. I'm thankful to my husband that he didn't give up on me, and our love.

Our wedding day. We look so young!!

Two years later we were blessed with our first child, Cate, aka The Bug!

This little gem is the light of my life. This spunky, precocious, smart, daring, athletic, caring, strong willed, wonder girl is 6 today.

When she was born I accepted the best job in the world, Mom! I love you baby girl!

Sara and Matt, Sonoma, Ca.

I get heckled by my husband daily about my facebook obsession, but sometimes it pays off.

Last summer was my 15 year high school reunion. Ok, I'm dating myself, but well, yes, I graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1993. It was a fun four years at an all girls Catholic school. I made so many friends but had lost touch with most of them over the years. Occasionally, I'd run into one or two when I was back in the Ville, but for the most part I only really kept in touch with a handful. After the reunion most of them got on fb. Even though I didn't make it back to SHA I was fortunate enough to get the chance to reconnect with them there. It has been amazing seeing them all grown up and now mothers, and lawyers, and teachers. Awesome women!

Well, that brings me to how I got to shoot a wedding in Sonoma. A friend, fellow classmate and field hockey team mate Sara Chapman is now living in San Francisco. She got engaged and noticed on fb I was a photographer. She liked my style of photography, documentary or photo journalism and asked me how to hire someone like that for her upcoming wedding. We went back and forth with questions and answers and finally the idea came into play that I should come out and shoot their wedding. We were able to work out all the details and in early October my hubby, I mean Assistant, and I headed west to photograph Sara and Matt's big day and also have some much needed alone time.

Their wedding was set up on a hill at the Viansa Winery. It was absolutely breathtaking. Everything was so gorgeous, especially Sara. I can't believe I was there to witness her special day and also to shoot the photographs. I need to thank Sara and Matt for a wonderful weekend.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

And next time I hear from Jimmy that I spend too much time on fb, I'll forward him the link to this post(;
